Answer
Hims GLP-1 cost, with and without insurance
The short answer
Hims is cash pay: $39 the first month, then $149 a month for the membership, plus the drug from $149 (Wegovy pill) or $299 (Zepbound). Hims doesn't bill insurance, so coverage helps only if you fill through your plan instead.
What does Hims charge?
Two separate bills. The membership is $39 for the first month and then renews at $149 a month; the drug is billed on its own, monthly or upfront depending on your plan. You can't buy the medication without the membership.
| Drug | Hims starting price |
|---|---|
| Wegovy pill | From $149 a month |
| Wegovy pen | From $199 a month |
| Zepbound vial or KwikPen | From $299 a month |
| Foundayo pill | From $149 a month |
| Ozempic pen | From $199 a month |
Read on the Hims weight-loss pages in September 2026. Hims publishes starting prices only, not a price for each dose.
How does that compare with buying direct?
The starting prices are the makers' own. NovoCare sells the Wegovy pill from $149 and the pen at $199 for two starter fills, and LillyDirect sells Zepbound from $299. Hims doesn't publish its higher-dose prices, so you can't compare those before you sign up.
What Hims adds is the membership: $149 a month after the first, on top of the drug.
What if you have insurance?
Hims doesn't use it. Its FAQ says insurance isn't required, and its terms say the membership isn't insurance. Its public weight-loss pages describe no insurance billing and no prior authorization help.
That matters if your plan covers these drugs. With commercial coverage, Novo's savings offer can bring the Wegovy pill or pen to $25 a month, and Lilly's card can do the same for the Zepbound pen. To get those, you fill through your own plan's pharmacy with your own prescriber, not through a cash program.
Can you use an HSA or FSA?
For the drug, yes; for the membership, no. Hims says the medication fee is FSA and HSA eligible and the membership fee isn't.
What should you check before you sign up?
Read the plan terms for these points first.
Whether your plan covers the drug, since Hims won't bill it.
The price at the dose you'll reach, not only the starting price.
Whether the drug is billed monthly or upfront.
That the first month's membership fee is non-refundable, and canceling ends your medication plan too.
What to ask your plan first
Does my plan cover [Wegovy or Zepbound] for weight management? Is a prior authorization needed, and what would my copay be with the manufacturer's savings card?
If your plan covers it, compare that copay with the Hims membership plus the drug before you pay cash.

Hims: "You'll pay a $39 membership fee at checkout for your first month. After that, your membership auto-renews at $149 per month (medication cost not included). You can cancel anytime, but canceling your membership will also cancel any active medication plan and access to care through the platform. If prescribed, your medication is billed separately (monthly or upfront, based on your plan)".
